Case Study

Fanner Cam

A focused iOS application designed around camera-led interaction and a more platform-native content experience.

Quick Overview

Mobile Application

An iOS media and social mobile contribution, representative of our native camera-led mobile app work.

The Problem

What needed to be fixed.

Camera-first apps have to get out of the user's way. If the camera doesn't open fast, the moment is gone. If capture feels clunky, people reach for the stock camera. Fanner Cam had to feel like a first-class iOS camera experience, with content tools that add value without slowing the capture.

What We Did

How we tackled it.

We contributed to an iOS build focused on fast camera launch, native capture, and a content flow that keeps capture and review within easy thumb reach. The app uses Apple's native camera and media frameworks so it behaves the way iPhone users already expect. Content tools live around the capture moment, not in front of it.

How We Built It

The approach and structure we used.

Here's how we thought about the implementation, the choices we made, and how we delivered it—without sharing anything that would compromise client privacy.

01

Approach 1

Made camera launch the primary action so capture is the first thing the app does.

02

Approach 2

Used native iOS camera and media frameworks for correct, fast, and battery-friendly behavior.

03

Approach 3

Designed the post-capture flow for one-handed use during real moments, not demos.

04

Approach 4

Kept the app tight so iOS handles it well across current and older supported devices.

The Results

What this created for the business.

  • The camera opens fast enough to catch the moment the user opened the app for.
  • Capture and review feel native to iOS, not like a cross-platform afterthought.
  • The focused scope kept the UX sharp and the install size small.
About the Metrics

We share what matters, keeping the sensitive details private.

Product metrics stay with the client, but time-to-capture and post-capture completion rates improved post-rebuild.
